Rent out your parking area.

If you live in an area where parking is expensive yet have got an empty parking space in your driveway, you could rent it on a monthly basis. Online parking marketplaces, such as Parkatmyhouse will allow you to list your space in their databases, and set a monthly price for it. You can also set restrictions on use if you're likely to need the space yourself during the weekend or at certain times of year.

How much? You should be able to take just slightly less than the going parking price in your area. Spaces in London generally go for around £200 per month, though security is also a factor in determining price.

I like this idea. I have been doing a slight twist of this myself. Helping people rediscover their parking spaces.

I have a 4-wheeler, and equipped it with a small plow. I live in the snow, and use it to clear my driveway and sidewalks. A neighbor asked me to do his twice a week, and offered to pay me $10 for 5 minutes of work. It has quickly turned into an extra $100 per week, which more than covers my time plus gas money. Cheers!

i did this for ohio state games when i lived just off campus, but it only took 5 minutes holding a sign at the right time. made $200 each game for having 4 cars park in spaces behind my apartment.

Didn't even realise you could do that!
